Lync Updates now on Microsoft Update!

Published 11/05/2011 - 0 Comments

Good news! From today Lync updates are appearing via Microsoft Update. This means you can use Windows Update / WSUS to update your Lync Clients and servers. Details on the Next Hop Blog here

Next Hop point out:

  • Updates that appear on the Download site will appear a few weeks later on Microsoft Update.
  • Updates for the Lync 2010 Attendee – User level installation will not appear on Microsoft Update.

I’ve just run the update on my machine and all worked fine. My Lync client is now nicely up to date

This makes life a lot easier than having to deploy the .msp’s manually.

It is also worth noting that you will still have to manually manage updating Lync Phone Edition clients.
